* International Trainers' Pool

* The International Trainers' Pool (ITP) is a group of experienced ELSA members that provides training in ELSA knowledge and in additional soft skills to the ELSA network.

* Concept

The ITP was set up in autumn 2000 with the aim of consolidating the network. The concept is to have former active ELSA members as trainers to cover the needs across the geographical span of the association. Through the ITP, ELSA creates the means for all groups to evolve equally, thus ensuring an even stronger network.

The trainers form the International Trainers' Pool, which is managed by the International Board of ELSA through the Director for Training.

The trainers themselves are continuously trained to maintain high standard support to the ELSA groups.

* Aim

The aim of the ITP is to support ELSA groups by providing training, in order to preserve and develop the knowledge within ELSA.

More precisely this means to:
  • Reactivate experienced ELSA members and benefit from their profound knowledge and skills.
  • Provide knowledge about ELSA's philosophy and aims to every existing and upcoming ELSA group.
  • Support the acquired knowledge with appropriate training in personal skills, i.e. soft skills.
  • Support ELSA groups in planning, moderation and problem solving.
  • Contribute to creating increasingly internationally minded individuals and groups of ELSA.

* Who can benefit?

All ELSA groups have the possibility to benefit from ELSA's International Trainers' Pool. By using the ITP, the ELSA groups receive greater means to work for their goals and the aims of the association.

Furthermore, the ITP gives individuals added skills that can be applied in their ELSA work, as well as in their future careers. The ITP is therefore beneficial for the association as well as the individual members of ELSA.

* How does it work?

Training from the ITP is developed in co-operation between the ELSA group requesting the training and the ITP trainer. Consequently, training held by the ITP is carefully tailored to match the training needs of the group in question, as the case may be.

The ITP trainer travels to the ELSA group to give the training. The ELSA group normally covers the expenses of the trainers travel costs, whereas the training itself is free and based on the benevolence of the trainer.

Through the ELSA Development Fund there is a possibility for ELSA groups to receive financial support when arranging a training event.
